Holiday Planning 101

It may seem like it is far too early to be thinking about the holidays but it is never too early. If you are having a holiday party for example, it is well worth deciding who will invite and buying the holiday invitations early as you may be able to get them at a better price and it also takes some of the stress away nearer to the time. There is no harm is jotting down a guest list and menu as well as a list f drinks as this will make it much easier nearer to the time. You may change your mind but at least you will have some ideas there if you need them. You may think that it is silly but imagine if you haven’t got your holiday party invitations and you find that they have sold out or just have ones left which you do not like. Why not plan in advance and then you will know that everything will go smoothly. You will not be rushing around at the last minute getting stressed.

You could do the same thing with your holiday cards because they are always in the shops very early. If you do buy early there is always the risk that you might see something better on another occasion so make sure that you do have a good look around first and then this will not happen. You can be this organised with gifts as well. Do not start to buy things too early as people might change their mind about what they want or buy the things themselves but you can at least start thinking about what you want to get for people. This can make things lots easier.

If you know for sure that people will not buy the items before hand then get them earlier because this will help to spread the cost for you. If you cannot buy things early then make sure that you start putting money aside as early as possible. It is a good idea to even start doing this in January as it will make things far easier when the holiday season approaches. Make sure you remember to save for the extra cost of food as well as gifts. Even if you think you will not spend more on food or you are not planning on entertaining, there are always tempting seasonal things in the shops which you are likely to buy that will make your food bill rise just a little bit.
